Compare crypto exchanges in Ghana

Crypto in Ghana now has a real legal framework: the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2025 (Act 1154, signed 29 December 2025) gives the SEC and Bank of Ghana joint licensing authority, rolling out in phases through 2026. The SEC admitted 11 firms to its first sandbox cohort on 10 March 2026 — including Hyro, the first Ghanaian-founded exchange, which is still waitlist-only — but none of the retail platforms below is in that cohort yet. The market itself has shifted too: Yellow Card — for years the best-known cedi on-ramp — permanently closed its consumer app on 1 January 2026 and now serves businesses only, and Paxful shut down worldwide in November 2025. Licensing is still IN PROGRESS — verify any platform's current registration status with the SEC/BoG before funding it, treat crypto as money you can afford to lose entirely, and refuse anyone promising fixed returns. Prices are volatile; nothing here is GDPC-insured.
